Cathy creator Cathy Guisewite is heading back to her hometown to be honored for “Voices: Extraordinary Women of Midland County.” The local paper interviewed her about this last year not doing the comic strip. Her strip a year ago yesterday.
“It’s been a very weird, very great year, completely mothering my daughter through her last year of high school and launching her first year in college.”
Fortunately, Guisewite added, “her college is about an hour away from home, less without traffic, and so she can still come back for weekends. I’ve treasured every minute of this, after being so invested in my career, being a workaholic.”
