Peanuts goes big into digital landscape

Peanuts Worldwide and Iconix has announced they’re strategically partnering with several entities to expand the Peanuts brand and products deeper into the digital market. Here are a few of the partnerships and products slated to be released:

  • Peanuts has partnered with Capcom to release a new video game for smartphones and tablets this fall.
  • You’ll also be able to get Happiness is a Warm Puppy and Happiness is a Warm Blanket as an ebook through Barnes and Noble this fall
  • iVerse will be releasing two collections of vintage Peanuts as an iOS app through Apple’s iTunes App Store.
  • Happiness is a Warm Blanket will be released through the Comixology app as a digital download. Other Peanuts graphic novels are slated for the future.
  • They’re expanding Peanuts.com to include more games, content and other interactive entertainment. There is now an official Facebook page and Twitter account.

    1. I guess it’s nice to see Peanuts getting more exposure, but would Charles Schulz want any of this? I’m not sure new Peanuts material should be released without Mr. Schulz approving it.

    2. I feel the same way. I think the new Peanuts material (such as the graphic novel accompanying the new DVD) has been beautifully done, but would it have been what Sparky wanted? It makes me feel slightly uneasy.
