Angry Birds tap Marvel executive for film projects

Rovio, the gaming studio behind Angry Birds, has announced they’ve hired former chairman of Marvel Studios David Maisel to “help build the company’s entertainment business and produce its Angry Birds films.” Maisel was also the executive producer of Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger.

The Next Web reports that Rovio has been looking at potential franchise opportunities in animation and a possible movie.
