After months of delays and becoming a running joke “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” will finally open tonight. Here’s a run-down of some of the press it’s gettting:
- T.V. Carpio, the woman playing the villainess Arachne is interviewed on some of the difficulties the production went through to get to tonight.
- The Empire State building will light up in red, white and blue tonight to honor flag day. The producers of the musical had requested that it be lit up in blue and red for opening night, but the building officials declined the offer unless the show change the script so the climatic battle scenes occurred on the Empire State Building instead of the Chrysler building.
I won’t be happy until they finally make a musical out
of a cartoon like “Broom Hilda.” Could be cool to see
a singing buzzard, troll, and witch onstage!
FINALLY!
I saw this a few days ago.
I’ve never been so simultaneously amazed and disappointed in my whole life.
I’m now thinking of removing the “Spidey” license plates from my car.
The local TV station “localized” this story by interviewing a local actor who had earlier been injured in the production and is now undergoing rehab.
I wonder how many other stations did that?
