Artists help Japan anime screenings at Toonseum

The Toonseum in Pittsburgh is sponsoring a fund-raiser for Artists Help Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Fund. Proceeds go to those afflicted by the massive quake and tsunami in Japan. On Saturday March 26th the museum will screen three anime movies from Japan’s greatest contemporary animators. The movies that will be shown that day are: Kiki’s Delivery Service” (Hayao Miyazaki), 5 Centimeters Per Second” (Makoto Shinkai), and Millennium Actress (Satoshi Kon).

The Artists Help Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Fund was founded by Dice Tsutsumi, an art director at Pixar Animation Studios. Dice was also behind the 2008 Totoro Forest Project to help preserve Sayama Forest in Japan.

If you’re not in the Pittsburgh are, you can still donate to the Artists Help Japan.
