The comic page landscape is still unsettled after Cathy Guisewite’s retirement. Here a few more reports on who’s running what:
» The Mansfield News Journal (OH) has picked up Cul de Sac
» Big Nate and Freshly Squeezed are picked up by the Appeal Democrat (CA)
» Richmond Times-Dispatch (VA) is now running Freshly Squeezed in trial
UPDATE: The Mail Tribune has picked up the daily Big Nate and Arlo and Janis. Dropped comics: Hi and Lois and Beetle Bailey.
Citrus County (Fla.) Chronicle replaced “Cathy” with “Pickles” from what I’ve read.
Daytona Beach News-Journal replaced “Cathy” with “Big Nate”.
Somerset (Pa.) Daily American replaced “Cathy” with “Stone Soup”.
Perhaps a repost, but Cul de Sac replaced Cathy in Scranton’s Times-Tribune.
Diamond Lil is still thriving in the former Cathy location in the Chicago Tribune.
By the way, I wonder if any papers that carried the now ceased as of Halloween comic strips Cleats and My Cage found good replacements…
