Teacher pleads guilty to animated porn

An Idaho middle school teacher has plead guilty to possession of animated child porn.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said Steven Kutzner, 33, had downloaded more than 70 animated cartoon pornographic images on his computer. Many of them depicted child characters from The Simpsons.

Kutzner was a former middle school teacher at Lake Hazel Middle School in Meridian. He resigned immediately after the search warrant was served at his home.

Sentencing will be held in January. He faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison and up to $250,000 in fines.

  1. So are we going to start prosecuting people who download/possess other animated depictions of crimes, now? Sheesh.

  2. There’s a guy down the street with a ballsack hanging from his trailer hitch and a decal of Calvin peeing on a Ford. Better arrest him too.

  3. If he taught children, he’d already be in jail… Ugh.
This kind of witch hunt would be right at home in Salem, Massachusetts, 1692.

  4. I just hope the investigation expands to the point where they can catch whoever was pimping out Bart Simpson.

  5. Terry,

This could rock the very foundations of the FOX entertainment syndicate!

  6. Animated child porn involving Simpsons characters and somebody’s going to jail over it? Hard to form an intelligent opinion about a case like that, given the scarcity of details.
Just have to take the prosecution’s word – who would dare to download the evidence?
Coming soon – possession of seditious cartoons.

  7. A prosecutor who can’t tell the difference between a drawing of The Simpsons and a realistic depiction of actual people? I weep for this nation.

  8. I was going to write that there’s no case here and that the courts have ruled time and again the cartoon porn is not illegal, if not exactly in good taste. I was going to reference the Mike Diana case to prove the point. On investigation, though, it appears that, in fact, Diana’s obscenity conviction stuck. So that teacher may indeed be in trouble–one’s right to view underage cartoon characters engaged in sexual activity is not absolute.

  9. Wow…. just…. wow! I am at a loss for words. I simply cannot express how incredibly stupid I think this is. I don’t know what to say. Just Wow!
