Bill Gallo, who has been The Daily News cartoonist and columnist for over 50 years, was honored with the New York Press Club President’s Award last Saturday.
“We’re delighted that the New York Press Club has chosen to shine a light on our colleague and friend Bill Gallo,” said Daily News editor-in-chief Kevin R. Convey. “He represents the highest traditions of the Daily News, and, in honoring him, the club honors all of us who have the privilege of working with him.”
Gallo called this award one of his most appreciated – because it comes from his fellow journalists.
“It’s always an honor to get an award, and it’s especially gratifying that I would get an award from the Press Club, because it’s from my peers,” Gallo said.
