ACEC to host first Fall convention

The Association of Canadian Editorial Cartoonists Convention is scheduled for later this month. The event runs September 23-26 in Hamilton Ontario. Coinciding with the convention is an exhibit entitled “Doodles to Digital” that runs from September 4 through December 12 and is described as, “shows how Canada’s best known editorial cartoonists have dealt with the changes brought on by technology, and the Internet, and how to best prepare for the future of mass media.”

Those who enjoy collecting original cartoon art may be interested to know that a number of contributions to the “Doodles to Digital” exhibit will be available for purchase via a silent auction.

All proceeds will be donated to SpecKids Unlimited, a registered charity that, in association with The Hamilton Spectator, helps local underprivileged children and at-risk youth.
