Gene Luen Yang on breaking into graphic novels

Gene Luen Yang is the creator of American Born Chinese – the first graphic novel to win the American Library Association’s Printz Award and nominated for a National Book Award in the category of Young People’s Literature. He recently keynoted a small comic book conference where he talked about his start in graphic novels.
