Doug MacGregor donates kidney; sees recipient’s kid graduate

Worth noting. The News-Press (Fort Myers, FL) editorial cartoonist Doug MacGregor donated his kidney to a friend five years ago so his friend could live to see his kids graduate from high school. First child graduated a few weeks ago.

“It was a proud moment,” Doug said. “One of the greatest days for parents is to see their kid graduate.”

Doug plans to attend the high school graduation of the two younger Bielefeldt children.

  1. Congrats Doug!!! As a fellow donor and cartoonist I applaud you. I’m glad to know that there’s more than one of us in the club. Please stay loud and proud, let others know to have no fear, you too can save a life if asked to.

  2. Wrong link on my name on the last comment. This will work if interested.
