Molly Norris a “prime target” for assassination

Molly Norris who prompted and then opposed the Everybody Draw Mohammed Day is now a “prime target” according to a New York Daily News report. The report states that Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who is linked to the Times Square car bomb attempt and has been cited as inspiration for the Fort Hood, TX massacre, has placed Molly on a hit list. The FBI are taking the threat seriously and have warned Molly of the “very serious threat”. Neighbors have reported that there has been an increase in police patrols on the street where she lives.

From the website where al-Awlaki’s threat appeared:

The 67-page terror rag is seen by terrorism experts as a bald new attempt to reach and recruit Muslim youth in the West.

“The medicine prescribed by the Messenger of Allah is the execution of those involved,” writes Awlaki, 39, a Las Cruces, N.M.-born American citizen.

“A soul that is so debased, as to enjoy the ridicule of the Messenger of Allah, the mercy to mankind; a soul that is so ungrateful towards its lord that it defames the Prophet of the religion Allah has chosen for his creation does not deserve life, does not deserve to breathe the air.”

    Please tell me you’re not a political cartoonist.

  3. These threats are not to be taken lightly, unfortunately. The Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, who is living with a similar vendetta on his life, was in his home with his grand-daughter when an invader broke in. The police had installed a safe room with a panic button in his house and he was able to get help before the attacker was able to get at him. This cleric, this ‘holy man’, believes that he speaks for Mohammed? People who presume to be spokesmen for the Almighty are charlatans. This Cleric is a dangerous fool.

  4. Awlaki’s threats work. What cartoonist would not think twice before doing a cartoon satirizing Islam, Allah, the Prophet and any other serious symbols of this wonderful religion of peace?

  6. Sounds like Awlaki has had a chilling effect. Remember, we’re dealing with drugged-out bozos from the 9th century here. These freaks should not be allowed in this country. Talk about incompatible cultures!
