Dave Whamond’s Reality Check turns 15 tomorrow

Congrats to Dave Whamond whose panel Reality Check turns 15 years old tomorrow.

Dave doesn’t see the world in the same way most of us do. Dave finds humor and silliness in everything, which is exactly why his comic panel Reality Check continues to give readers a laugh. On April 3, Reality Check celebrates 15 years of exposing life’s hidden hilarities.

“Wow! Fifteen years already. It definitely goes by fast… I’m still having a blast doing it,” Dave said. “Reality Check has changed over the years but I still get a kick out of drawing the panel and seeing people’s reactions to my work, both good and bad.”

Distributed by United Feature Syndicate, Reality Check is a daily and Sunday comic that showcases Dave’s offbeat view of the world. Last month, the panel was nominated for this year’s National Cartoonists Society Award for Best Gag Cartoon; Dave was also nominated for Best Book Illustration (for My Think-A-Ma-Jink).The winners will be announced in May.

  1. Congratulations Dave! I just discovered Dave’s work recently with some of his book illustrations and was completely blown away by his color! Does anyone know if he has a website?
