Another American woman has allegedly been tied to the plot to kill Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks. The Colorado woman, identified as Jamie Paulin-Ramirez, was one of the seven arrested in Ireland, though she was not charged. CNN reports that she was released on Saturday.

The press has been referring to Vilks as a “cartoonist,” but it would be more accurate to describe him as a conceptual artist. He has worked in a variety of media, rarely in cartooning, and is not widely considered a cartoonist in Sweden.
The artwork in question is really more of a sketch than a cartoon, and is part and parcel of a larger project of his called “Dogs.”
The confusion likely stems from the American press’ inability to distinguish between Denmark and Sweden.
