Rudy Larriva dies at 94

Veteran animator Rudy Larriva, whose animation credits extend to Warner Bros, United Production of America (UPA), Format Films, Ruby-Spears, among others, passed away on February 19th. He was 94.

Despite his long range of credits, he is without a doubt known among animation fans as the director of several low-budget Road Runner cartoons, which were made after Warner Bros. had shut down their animation studio and started subcontracting to outside, independent companies. The Road Runner cartoons were made at Format Films via DePatie-Freleng.

  1. A lot of unsung animators pass without notice, but we sure loved how they entertained us! R.I.P. Rudy!
