  1. No doubt. What are the odds that rejected NYer cartoons are actually the funny ones!?

  2. Very high. I’ve seen Shannon’s rejects. If the New Yorker ran nothing but his rejects, their quality would quadruple overnight.

  3. shoot – I can’t complain. They picked up 5 of my cartoons last year. Not too shabby for my freshman year submitting cartoons. The ones they picked weren’t too bad – if I say so myself.

  4. but thank you guys. way too flattering.

  5. It also depends on what your idea of “funny” is. Shannon always makes me laugh but I can’t say the same of the NYer.

  6. Congrats! I was happy to see your stuff in the New Yorker. Hope they keep running you. Looking forward to your personal Rejection Collection.

  7. Shannon: Great to see your work in the Gnu Yokuh, really contemporary, I like it.
