“Spider-Man 4” may not make its May 2011 release date as Sony Studios and director Sam Raimi are locked in an impasse on the villain Spidey should battle in the next and possibly last installment. Raimi wants a classic antagonist “The Vulture” and Sony wants a “romantic sub-plot involving a burglar named the Black Cat.” The two parties have locked horns before. In Spider-Man 3, Raimi pushed for The Vulture and The Sandman, but the studio wanted Venom because of greater marketing possibilities.

I want to see a big screen adaption of the landmark 1970’s comic book “Superman Vs Spider-Man”.
Let Raimi do what he wants. Suits pretty much just screw things up, and I think Raimi has a better grasp of what fans want.
Just reading that paragraph above gave me visions of some suit a few years ago saying “Hey, let’s put Halle Berry in a cat suit! It’s movie gold! It’ll be huge!!”
Shudder…..
Spiderman 3 was a mess that Sony forced on Rami. Sounds like another boring flick is on the way!
I’m surprised the suits don’t try throwing every villain they can find into the movie, with visions of merchandise in their heads.
Spidey -vs- Everyone
