Yoshito Usui, best known for his Japanese cartoon series “Crayon Shin-chan,” was found dead from an apparent fall from a cliff. The artist had been missing since September 11. He had told family that he was going to hike in the mountains north of Tokyo but never returned.

As a kid in Japan, I loved watching “Crayon Shin-chan” every week. It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least, when I discovered that it was airing on Adult Swim some time back.
What a terrible way to go. My condolences to the family.
Thanks, Yoshito-san.
I love Shin-chan! What heartbreaking news.
Yes, I remember watching this show some too as a child when I lived in Japan. It is truly sad to hear about this unexpected loss.
I went on a real hike up a mountain recently with some friends to mohonk national park. I was on a ladder 100ft up in some cave.. not something anyone should do on their own.
