Earlier in June, I mentioned that it was announced that Archie would pop the question to Veronica in an upcoming six part series of the Archie comic book. This series kicks off this week. There’s been a number of press write-ups. Here are a few of them:
» NPR: Archie Marries Veronica! Not a Dream! Not an Imaginary Story! Oh. Wait.
» NPR’s Amy Dickinson writes a faux advice column to give Betty some advice on what to do next.
» Stephan Colbert takes on the gender stereotypes portrayed in Archie (see video below). “Without Archie to focus on, Betty will have to do something sad like rediscover her own dreams and devote her life to making the world a better place”

» **Spoiler alert** There has been some discussion that Archie will pop the question, but the wedding will never happen. The Betty-Veronica-Archie love triangle has proven too successful and tinkering with it might spell out disaster for the famous comic book. Sarah Mclellan of the Edmonton Journal reports that “The covers of the second and third issues of the series have already been released with one showing Archie and Veronica at the altar and the following one depicts the couple, with two children, celebrating Christmas.”
