Family Guy nominated for rare Best Comedy Series Emmy Award

Animated News reports that the animated TV show Family Guy has been nominated for the Best Comedy Series Emmy Award. This is only second time an animated show has been allowed into this category. Family Guy is up against 30 Rock, Entourage, Flight Of The Conchords, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, and Weeds. The Emmys will be broadcast on September 20.   4. Unfortunately, it’s not unprecedented. “The Flinstones” was nominated for Best Comedy over a far superior animated series, “The Bullwinkle Show” back in 1961.

  5. Simpsons should have been nominated years ago. i dont think the stuff they are doing now can compete with the shows mentioned above. Family Guy also is nowhere near as funny as its first few seasons which makes it even more surprising that they suddenly decided to honor an animated series.
