Exhibits web comics

Webcomic News Briefs for January 21, 2009

» Webcomicker pro Dave Kellets, creator of Sheldon, will be at the Miami Books and Books talking about building a living wage career online with comics. I’m sure book signing is also in order as well as a Question & Answer period.

» Tak Toyoshima, creator of Secret Asian Man, will be one of many exhibited artists at the Many Faces of Manga on January 24 National Japanese American Historical in San Francisco.

» Tom Mason continues rolling out the interviews over at gearlive.com. The latest installment is with Zach Weiner, creator of the webcomic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. Tom describes SMBC as “hilarious mix of cartoons based on pop culture, science, relationships, and nerd humor, making it a must-read.”

» And not a webcomic news item, but it’s not exactly a comic strip item either, so here it is: Bizarro creator Dan Piraro will be performing his comedy routine as the featured entertainment for a benefit event for the Booker T. Washington Foundation of Excellence on February 28.

  1. I am not a cartoonist, just a big fan, but it is Dave Kellett who is the creator of Sheldon. I read it everyday.

  2. Kellett is one of the absolute best out there!
