Mr. Mum returns after 50 years

The Strange World of Mr. Mum, which began a 12 year run in syndication between 1958 and 1970s, is back. This time the wordless panel is available as a daily email subscription offering. Mr. Mums was created by Irving Phillips who was humor editor of Esquire magazine and wrote gags for W.C. Fields and the comedy duo George Burns and Gracie Allen. He also wrote three movie screenplays and 14 stage productions. After Irving’s passing, the intellectual property was left to his niece who recently teamed up with her brother to create the new website.

In addition to the email subscription, you can also buy original cartoons, T-shirts and other licensed memorabilia.

  1. I vaguely remember this panel. Some of the gags are brilliant.
