TMS ComicsPage.com to return

Tribune Media Syndicate has responded to questions posted by E&P’s Dave Astor about their online comics service’s apparent closure. A spokesman for the company told Dave that the site was taken down after the company was not able to move the database away from a server that TMS no longer owned. The company is planning a “next iteration of the site,” but in the meantime, they’re directing traffic to gocomics.com and facebook to allow users to continue read and comment on their comic offerings.

  1. First! Man, the DC is the “Drudge” of the comics world. I guess they saw these postings. 🙂

  2. Cool, I can’t imagine starting my morning without checking to see if Uncle Walt Wallet is still alive.

  3. “was not able to move the database away from a server that TMS no longer owned”? What kind of half-assed explanation is THAT? Did they not have backups? What sort of database technicians do they have on staff? Do they think people don’t realize how affordable servers are? (Last I checked, Tribune is part of a very large company.) That is really weak.
