Clay Bennett wins 2007 Thomas Nast Award

Chattanooga Times Free Press editorial cartoonist Clay Bennett has won this year’s Thomas Nast Award for best cartoons on international affairs from the Overseas Press Club of America. The award was given for a portfolio of work while he was at The Christian Science Monitor.

The judges noted, “his cartoons do what all great cartoons do: make you laugh and groan at the same time.”

The runner-up citation went to Mike Luckovich, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

  1. Couldn’t have happened to a better cartoonist and a nicer atheist. God bless him.
