Garry Trudeau to be honored by Yale School of Medicine

Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau will be awarded the Mental Health Advocacy Award from Yale School of Medicine for his portrayal of soldiers dealing with the challenges of returning from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He’ll be honored during the Department of Psychiatry’s Neuroscience 2008 symposium on April 5th.

“The Mental Health Research Advocacy Award is given annually by the Department of Psychiatry to someone who has made an important contribution to the effort to advance research designed to improve the lives of people with mental illness,” said John Krystal, M.D., professor of clinical pharmacology and deputy chair for research in psychiatry.

Garry is a Yale graduate.
