The Hartford Courant has announced that their long time search for a replacement for the daily FoxTrot (which retired at the end of 2006) is over and Alex Hallatt’s Arctic Circle is now a permanent feature in their comic line up.
Hundreds of people have commented on the different strips we have been trying out, with many kind words for “Agnes,” “Candorville” and “Frazz.” There were slightly fewer kudos for other strips, including “Diesel Sweeties” and “Cow and Boy.” And, of course, many begged for Dilbert to be moved from the Business section back to the comics pages (still, not a chance). We took into account everyone’s comments, coupled with our own preferences, and chose “Arctic Circle.”
Congratulations Alex!
Way to go Alex!
Good on you Alex. Well deserved.
Good for you Alex!
Wow, I didn’t know they were still looking for a replacement to “FoxTrot.”
Good thing that they finally settled.
Nice one, Alex!
Congrats Alex. That’s a good spot to fill!
Congratulations Alex. Well deserved.
Hey great news Alex!
Congratulations, Alex, and congratulations to the Hartford Courant for the wise choice.
In related news, approximately 30 papers are still searching for a replacement for Krazy Kat. Is 60 years too long to run a comics poll?
Congratulations to Alex.
Congrats Alex!!!
Thanks, everyone. I’m really stoked, especially considering the competition I was up against.
