Cartoon Festival to benefit non-profit groups
Skip to commentsGuy Gilchrist is throwing a Cartoon Festival and silent auction to benefit two non-profit organizations this next week. On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is an open house at his Cartoonist’s Academy that will include tours, drawing lessons, games and free food. Then on Tuesday July 24th from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. is the cartoon festival and auction. Attending the event that night include Frank McLaughlin (Gil Thorpe), Frank Bolle (Apartment 3-G), Mike Valentine (Flintstones), and George Wildman (Popeye) who will be on hand to draw caricatures, sign prints and to talk shop.
The two non-profit groups are TAPS – a support network for widows and orphans of Armed Forces service members, and the CT Children’s Medical Center.
