Swann Foundation Selects Two Fellows for 2007-2008

The Caroline and Erwin Swann Foundation for Caricature and Cartoon has selected Ellen Berg and Prudence Peiffer to receive their foundation’s fellows for 2007-2008. The foundation noted that there was an unusual number of strong candidates and the fellowship grant money of $15,000 was split to support the two students.

Berg is a postdoctoral fellow at Rothermere American Art Institute at University of Oxford and will user her fellowship to support her work on her research project: Where Have You Gone, Miss Columbia: American Identity and Uncle Sam’s Forgotten Partner.

Peiffer is a doctoral candidate at Harvard University, and is working on her dissertation entitled “Routine Extremism: Ad Reinhardt and Modern Art.”
