Sunshine Club to Come to an End After Tribute Strips

With the passing of Howie Schneider last week, his feature The Sunshine Club will be retired on September 1.

From Mary Anne Grimes, Executive Director, Public Relations at United Media:

The Sunshine Club came from Howie’s heart and soul – it was his vision. These were his ideas and he was passionate about them. We don’t think anyone else could do it as well, so we’re ending it after running a tribute to Howie with repeats of favorite strips through September 1.

The Sunshine Club currently runs in about 100 newspapers.
