Cartoonists in the news: John Marshall

I mentioned this back in January, but I’m seeing syndicated stories about John Marshall who’s name will now be cited as an artist on the Blondie comic strip.

Then he got a call from King Features in 2002 to work as an assistant artist on “Blondie.” He had done inking work on the strip “Hagar the Horrible.”

Marshall began working on “Blondie” in December of that year and became lead artist in May 2005, although he didn’t receive credit on the strip.

Reached by phone, Dean Young says Marshall’s “been doing such a great job that the Bumsteads and I couldn’t be more pleased.”
