Andrey Feldshteyn writes in to alert Daily Cartoonist visitors that he has created a detailed list of international cartoon contests.
For the last three years I took an active part in various cartoon competitions around the globe (just a month ago I was awarded by the Award of Excellence at the National Press Club of Canada International Cartoon Contest.) As a byproduct of all these activities I have got tons of info about cartoon competitions, awards, professional cartoonists etc. So the idea to create a free, available for everybody informational service came naturally.
The site map is very simple, I practically do not provide graphic, concentrated on the content. As a result I got the most detailed cartoon contests list in the West Hemisphere.
And that he does. Thanks Andrey!
Andrey is a he, not a she.

Not all that is art worthy is left to the computer. In addition to that, there are still many places for people that are primarily drawers and painters to offer their services. Not merely as freelancers, but as competitors too.
Glad there is a website to encourage and allow artists to gain a foot or toehold. Even in the USA, the cartoonist should not take the freedom to do so lightly!
As the nation becomes overtly more corporate, some potent elements of commerce may not welcome an Interlandi, Bill Maulden, or Daumier.
