Aaron McGruder campaigns for Emmy Award by shaming producers
Skip to commentsFrom Star Pulse blog and a Universal Press press release comes news that Aaron McGruder is trying to get an Emmy for his Boondocks television show by shaming the producers through a series of advertisements. One of the ads says:
In the new campaign, featured in current TV industry trade magazines, producers state, “No black people on Frasier, it won Emmys. No black people on Will & Grace, it won Emmys. They finally put some black people on Desperate Housewives, and they locked one of ’em in the basement. But, f**k it, we’ll try anyway.”
Apparently the ads are geared to remind those involved in the Emmys that African-Americans have not faired well in the annual ceremony.
We’ll see how it goes. The Emmy awards will be held August 27, 2006.
