Cartoons Speaking Engagements

Humor on the slopes festival features 8 New Yorker cartoonists

Several New Yorker cartoonists are gathering in Vail this weekend to host an event entitled “Humor on the Slopes Cartooning Festival.” The three day event is a promotional event by a local ski resort to attract more visitors and features Harry Bliss, Matt Diffee, Ed Koren, Bob Mankoff, Victoria Roberts, Jack Zeigler, and others.

During the festival, the cartoonists will be on hand to entertain guests with cartoon renderings, host a breakfast, do classes for children, appear at cocktail parties and more. There will also be a captioning contest – similar to the one the magazine runs on its inside back page every week – where people will have the chance to win prizes by suggesting the best caption.

  1. We love any write ups you are willing to post on this event. FYI we will be holding it again this year with a slightly different line up of cartoonists. The dates are February 28 – December 2, 2008. All information can be found on Beavercreek.com. One update from your above article is that it takes place in BEAVER CREEK which is Avon, Colorado but we just advertise it as Beaver Creek. Nothing takes place in Vail.

    Thanks again!

  3. Wow, it must have been pretty successful if your are extending it to 10 months! 😉 Sound like fun though, hope it goes well.
