Cartoons Comic strips Technology

More cartoons go mobile

I noticed gocomics.com when I was visiting Gardfield‘s web site a couple of days ago, so I assumed that GoComics was an established product/feature, but the press release announcing the services hit the wire today. From the press release:

With a huge list of popular comic strips, GoComics lets fans put their favorite characters on their phones. GoComics also has an extensive collection of Manga titles including TOKYOPOP?s Princess Ai, @Large and ShutterBox, eigoMANGA and eye-popping indy titles like Megatokyo. However, the GoComics store is more than just comics-it has recently incorporated illustrated art like the hot and sultry girls of Pin-Up Toons, the cool and cute Olivia, and warm and homey Mary Engelbreit scenes. According to GoComics Content Director, Jeff Webber, “Comics are a perfect fit for mobile phones and we are committed to keeping our content fresh and with the times. We want to make it easy for a fan to download the latest The Boondocks wallpaper after seeing Huey and the gang in the paper, online, or on TV.”

I’ve reported earlier that both Dilbert and Peanuts had gone mobile.
