I’m not sure when this was originally published, but it was an entertaining read. Newsweek’s Educational Program interviewed Mike Luckovich, editorial cartoonist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Donald Rumsfeld requested one of my cartoons. I’m not a big fan of Rumsfeld, but for some reason, that doesn’t bother him. He has several of my cartoons hanging up – in his bathroom. I sent Rumsfeld the original of a cartoon he requested, plus an official seal with Rumsfeld’s face entitling me to a free lunch at the Pentagon, and the opportunity to drive an M1 Abrams Tank. I left space for Rumsfeld to sign it. He sent it back with two additions: One, lunch at the Pentagon won’t be at the taxpayers’ expense; and two, he gets to specify what country I can drive the tank in.
