(VeeFriends) Comic Corner – New Sunday Comic for Lee Newspapers

DAVENPORT, Iowa, Feb. 20, 2025 — Lee Enterprises Inc, (NASDAQ: Lee) a leading provider of local news, information and advertising across 72 markets in 25 states, today announced it has entered a partnership with VeeFriends, an entertainment company created by serial entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk, to produce original comics that will publish weekly on weekends across Lee Enterprises’ publications.
Lee Enterprises announced that beginning with their February 23, 2025 Sunday editions a new comic feature would be published in all their 72 newspapers.
The weekly comics will feature VeeFriends characters, such as Brave Bison, Empathy Elephant, and Fearless Fairy, who use their superpowers to help humankind. VeeFriends comics will appear both online and in print starting February 23.
At the same time VeeFriends also announced the partnership:

Though never explicitly stated the best I can suss is the Comic Corner comic strip may be written by VeeFriends creator Gary Vaynerchuk (aka Gary Vee) and may be drawn (and maybe written) by VeeFriends art director D. J. Coffman.
But we’re not stopping at just delivering comics to your doorstep. Our Director of Comics and Character Development, D.J. Coffman and the other members of the VeeFriends Comics team will be drawing the series live on YouTube and Whatnot every week, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. This will be an interactive process, where readers can submit good news stories or fan art for a chance to be featured in future editions.
