Graeme MacKay: ACC/AAEC 2024

Having read about the combined Association of American Editorial Cartoonists – Association of Canadian Cartoonists convention from a Yankee’s perspective, I think it well worthwhile to read about the combined Association of Canadian Cartoonists – Association of American Editorial Cartoonists joint conference from a Canuck’s frame of reference.

Montreal recently hosted a dynamic convention that brought together cartoonists, scholars, and enthusiasts, and I was fortunate enough to attend. For a profession full of hired cynics, these gatherings have a way of inspiring and energizing even the most jaded minds. The atmosphere of shared experiences and creative exchange can be a rare boost for those of us who often take a critical lens to the world.

Like Mike’s report, Graeme includes plenty of photos and screenshots (more defined and larger than here).

So here is Graeme MacKay‘s summary of the grand event.

And Graeme ends with a group photo of some of the convention’s attendees:

Game time! Instead of Where’s Waldo, let’s play Pinpoint Peterson – that would be TDC’s own Mike.

  1. Since the only picture I’ve ever seen of him is the one with Brian Fies, I’m guessing he’s the eyes behind the 2nd guy on the right. The hair, or lack thereof, appears to be similar.
