Heritage Auctions passes $150 million in auctions

A sizable milestone has been passed by Heritage Auction. The Texas auction house has recently sold over $150 million in comic related properties. Established in 1976, it began its comics category in 2001 and holds several Guinness World Records for comic related auctions. The highest includes $5.2 million for the Nicolas Cage comic book collection (included other properties) in 2002.

From Comic Book Resources:

?Since the inception of the Comics category at Heritage in November of 2001, it?s been nothing less than a juggernaut,? said Ed Jaster, Senior Vice President of Heritage. ?Now, $150 million later we?re sitting at the top of the comics and comic art auction business. It?s taken a tremendous amount of work, but it?s definitely been a labor of love.?
