Andrews McMeel Syndication (AMS) has announced the signing of Brian Crane’s Pickles comic strip. The date for the move from Washington Post Writers Group to AMS is given as July 1, 2022 (a Friday).
Kansas City, MO (April 18, 2022) Andrews McMeel Syndication (AMS) will assume sales and distribution of Pickles by Brian Crane, announced Brent Bartram, Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager of AMS. The effective date is July 1, 2022.
It was earlier reported here that the switch date was June 1, 2022.
Appearing in more than 900 newspapers around the world and in eight comic collections, Pickles has garnered a devoted following in its more than 30 years in syndication. Crane was honored with the Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society (NCS) as “Cartoonist of the Year” in 2013, and Pickles was named Best Comic Strip of the Year in 2001 and 2020 by the NCS. The strip was previously syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group.
