First xkcd book now available online
Skip to commentsXkcd, a successful, quirky, nerd, geek, math webcomic is now available in book form beginning this week. The collection is entitled, “xkcd: volume 0,” and features the first 600 xkcd comics and includes “lot of doodles, notes, and puzzles in the margins.” It’s only available for purchase online and a portion of the profits go toward building a school in Laos through the charity Room to Read.
Xkcd is the brain-child of Randall Munroe who started the comic in 2005 while a contractor for NASA. Within the next two years, the strip’s popularity (and online merchandise) grew to the point where Randall was able to quit his job with NASA.
