» B.C. cartoonist Mason Mastroianni is heading up a new program called “Mason on the Move” to encourage elementary students in his area to eat healthy and avoid obesity. Mason will use stories of his own childhood dealing with obesity and two new cartoon characters he created for a DVD to inspire kids to lose weight.

» The Oakland Tribune has a write up of Wee Pals creator Morrie Turner and Sid Shaffer and their partnership on the comic strip. Sid has been doing the lettering for 44 years.

» Green Bay Press Gazette editorial cartoonist Joe Heller will be the featured speaker at the May 4 League of Women Voters’ sixth annual Soap Box Series at the Oshkosh Country Club.

» Wisconsin State Journal editorial cartoonist Phil Hands is profiled by Madison Wisconsin television WKOW.

» Rob Rogers, over at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is now blogging full-time and has added a cartoon contest called “Armchair Cartoonist Contest.” Previous to this, Rob would blog for special events such as his coverage of political conventions and the Super Bowl. You can see his blog here.

» Scranton Times-Tribune editorial cartoonist John Cole will be on the “State of Pennsylvania” program tomorrow evening.
