Below are some comic strip and cartoon books scheduled for May 2021 release.
Images and links (mostly) via Amazon,
though ordering through your local comic or independent book store is a good idea.
We’ll start the book section with a couple filed for May but released in April.
Caricature and National Character
And one I didn’t know about until too late for last month’s listing:
Now, on to May (with another NCS scholarship winner):
Billionaires: The Lives of the Rich and Powerful author interview
The Art and Humor of John Trever: Fifty Years of Political Cartooning
A Bathroom Book for People Not Pooping or Peeing
An Altar Boy Named ‘Speck’
Speck the Alter Boy: The Collection Collection
Add Ink: Cartoon Chronicles of Life in Hong Kong review
The Secret to Superhuman Strength
Somehow, I missed knowing what this is about. (I was absent for a few days.) (Do I need a note from my mother?)
I would like to send my OWN book that I wrote and drew, because it is gentle and sweet and impossibly naive, and full of singing and dancing. A hopelessly ineffective antidote to everything else. So, seriously, how do I get in on this? Who has organised this “send a soldier a book” thing? How do I nominate my stupid pacifistic book? How many box-tops do I need to include? Please tell me . . .
Katherine, there is no organized effort (as far as I know).
It was a tag added to the monthly new books list since
it posted on Armed Forces Day here in the U.S.
