Richard Thompson’s Cul de Sac was a weekly feature in the Washington Post years before it became a daily syndicated strip. This Sunday, Cul de Sac crosses the five year milestone of it being in The Washington Post.
Richard also does another weekly feature for the Post entitled Richard’s Poor Almanac, which debuted in 1997.
This is such a great comic. I just picked up the book last week.
My congratulations to Richard. I have been really enjoying his strip. Here is to five more!
Congratulations! You’re just about the best there is.
Thompson ran the first few original Cul de Sac strips at his blog last month.

Thanks! I’m half way to retirement already!
Richard, (Friday) I got a full-color printer’s proof copy of the wonderful “Cul de Sac” cover you created for Issue 3; it is quite beautiful, my friend! It looks like my new printer is going to “deliver.” Your copies will be mailed to you as soon as I get the magazines this week.
I forgot: Congrats on five years, and thank you for giving us such a wonderful comic strip!
Cul de Sac is one of the best written strips out there. Congrats Richard and thank you for bringing us such a wonderful strip.
Also, John, I’m looking forward to the new issue of Stay Tooned and seeing Richard’s artwork on the cover.
