Lucas Turnbloom Sweeps Spj San Diego Awards

San Diego cartoonist Lucas Turnbloom took home a few awards at this year’s San Diego chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists awards banquette this last week. Lucas was awarded 1st place in magazine illustration and honorable mention, 2nd and 1st place in the Original Drawing or Illustration category. Judges remarked his entries had a “nice colorful, humorous style.”

  4. Lucas is INSANELY talented! He’s taken multiple awards in his categories in the San Diego Press Club’s annual Journalism Awards the past few years as well.

    Lucas does the layout of the San Diego Press Club’s Foghorn newsletter for free and his creativity knows no bounds. We’ve never looked sharper thanks to Lucas. The big bonus: he is such a joy to work with with a “can-do” attitude. Do you ever have a bad day like the rest of us, Lucas?
