Neil Gaiman, author of short stories, comic books, graphic novels, and movies (with a long list of awards to go with those genres), was the commencement speaker at the University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA).
In my book, this speech ranks up there with Steve Jobs’ now famous 2005 Stanford University speech. Worth the 20 minutes of your day to watch.
Update: Gavin Aung Than created a great comic from one of the sections of the speech.
This is pure greatness.
I needed to hear this about 20 years ago.
Excellent! Thank you.
Ditto Stacy, just add a couple decades to that.
I’m so glad to have heard this. Gaiman is the absolute master of forcing you to listen by not speaking in a bluster, but in a whisper.
