Etta Hulme interviewed

Daryl Cagle has posted a short interview with Etta Hulme, the most widely syndicated female editorial cartoonist.

Says Cagle:

Etta is a charming, talented, grandmotherly character and her cartoons are just as warm and charming - in sharp contrast to the harsh, younger cartoonists.

Indeed. I enjoyed the video clip and hope the larger documentary is aired.

I wrote back in October that Brevity co-creators Rodd Perry and Guy Endore-Kaiser were going to be at a book signing at Borders. As part of a promotion of their upcoming calendar release, Border’s has posted a video of them walking through their creative process. It’s a funny video - lots of self-deprecating humor.

From the For Better or For Worse web site comes two links to videos with Lynn Johnston produced by the Canadian Broadcast Corporation. The first is a 17 minute video profiling Lynn at work and home.

And then they have another feature called “Life in a Comic Strip” that runs 13 minutes and covers his early career.

Peanuts specials to be distributed by Warner Home Video

According to Hollywood Reporter, Warner Home Video has become the exclusive worldwide home video distributor of over 50 Peanuts specials. Warner plans to remaster many old classics such as A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, A Charlie Brown Christmas and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The first collectors DVD will be Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown and will be released January 15. The company also plans to produce original shortform content for wireless and video on demand outlets.
