The board of the Herblock Foundation has voted to expand the eligibility for entrants for the Herblock Prize to include cartoonists whose work appears in monthly newspaper and magazines. The stated eligibility now states: “The Herblock Prize contest is open to any newspaper, magazine, wire service or syndicate cartoonist for editorial or political cartoons published in a daily, weekly, or monthly newspaper or magazine published in the U.S. or its territories.”
While I’m not sure if this is a new rule, but it’s worth noting, “cartoons appearing in U.S. editions of foreign publications are also eligible”.
The Prize recognizes excellence in editorial cartooning. If you’re eligible, the deadline is Feb 4.
