Trudeau: No change in Doonesbury title character

Garry Trudeau’s Doonesbury, which has a cast of characters number over 50, was named after and built around the character Mike Doonesbury, but this week’s story-line has some wondering if Garry is passing the title character role to Alex – Mike’s daughter.
In reality, Garry tells me that the story-line isn’t meant to be an announcement, simply one of his “periodic fourth wall fractures.” This week Garry explores what would happen if the younger Doonesbury was the strip’s center. The story-line ends on Sunday.

It seemed like the strip focused on Duke in Samoa for years!
