Natural Selection By Russ Wallace

Dr. Scott Henson, better known in the cartooning community as Russ Wallace who created the panel Natural Selection, passed away last week at the age of 52. Scott was a trained neurosurgeon but had to leave surgery due to debilitating heart disease. He then turned to cartooning launching Natural Selection in 2000. The strip ran until 2007 when he was forced to end it due to his health concerns.

  1. Don’t know his work, but that’s awfully young!

  2. Great talent and gone far too soon…

  3. I never had met him. i wish I had the chance.

  4. I was a medical student in the early 1990s at the Univ of Virginia, and it was Scott Henson who mentored me and convinced me to pursue neurosurgery as a career. I just learned of his passing today…and I’m saddened that the world has lost such a humorous and insightful soul.
