Video: Ali Farzat interviewed tells first hand account of beatings
The Guardian has a great interview with Syrian cartoonist Ali Ferzat whose hands were beaten and left for dead last August by pro-regime thugs trying to quiet his work. In this interview Ali gives a first hand account of what happened. He also talks about returning to cartooning after and it’s physically painful to draw when drawing for longer periods of times.

Wow. The fact that Farzat’s sense of humor has remained intact is amazing and inspiring.

Inspiring and amazing, I agree. However, was it just his hands that were beaten and left for dead? I’m pretty sure they beat him, too…
